Volunteer Opportunities at Service Dogs Alabama
At Service Dogs Alabama, we rely on compassionate animal lovers to assist in raising, socializing, and transporting our service dogs-in-training. If you want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and veterans with disabilities and can commit to caring for a dog or puppy for 3-6 months while attending bi-monthly training sessions, we would love to hear from you! We currently have opportunities available in the following areas:
Puppy Raisers
We are seeking dedicated volunteers to raise puppies in their homes to prepare them for our formal training program. Once dogs complete. After the puppy is housebroken and has basic obedient skills, it will be sent to the prison training program for the first phase of training. Upon return to the first phase of training the dogs, the dogs can return to a volunteer puppy raiser in order to reintroduce them to a home environment and public outings where dogs are allowed.

Becoming a Community Supporter of Service Dogs means spreading the word about Service Dogs in Alabama. Like our social media pages and share our message with the world. You may not be able to train a puppy or raise money for us, but simply spreading the word about our mission has brought in applicants for service dogs and others who can volunteer or raise money.
